Planning poker for Jira, with no install
Run planning poker on your Jira backlog without installing anything in Jira. Connect with OAuth, import your issues, vote as a team, and the agreed story points are written back to each issue automatically. Free, with no caps, and your teammates join from a link without a Jira account.
Jira Cloud. No Marketplace app. No credit card.
Jira stores the estimate. It does not help you agree on it.
Jira gives every issue a place for the number: the Story Points field in company-managed projects, or Story point estimate in team-managed ones, and each board chooses its estimation statistic (story points, time or issue count). What Jira does not have is a way for the team to arrive at that number together: there is no built-in planning poker. That is the gap every planning poker tool for Jira fills.
Why not a Marketplace app?
Marketplace apps run inside Jira. That works, but it comes with trade-offs.
You pay for your whole Jira site
Cloud apps are billed at your site's user tier. If your company has 500 Jira users and one team of 8 estimates, the app is priced for 500, and every installed app goes up when the site moves to a new tier.
Someone has to install it
Installing a Marketplace app usually needs a Jira admin, and often a security review.
It lives inside Jira
The experience is shaped by what Jira's interface allows.
Planning Poker Web takes the other route, on purpose
Nothing to install
Connect with OAuth in a couple of minutes. No admin approval inside Jira.
Free, with no caps
No matter how big your Jira site is, and with no ads.
Guests vote without a Jira account
Only the connection uses one. Everyone else joins from a link.
One room for everything
Live or async voting, a retro board, and Linear or ClickUp if part of your company uses them.
Not every Marketplace app is paid: a few are free, and if you only need a simple vote inside Jira, they can be enough. We are built for teams that want more than that, without the install.
How Planning Poker Web compares with Jira Marketplace apps
Prices from each app's Atlassian Marketplace listing in October 2026, for a Jira site with 11 users. Marketplace prices follow your site's user tier and change over time: check the listing for your numbers.
| Runs where | How it is billed | Example price | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Planning Poker Web | Outside Jira, connected with OAuth | Free, no caps | $0 |
| Agile Poker for Jira (Appfire) | Inside Jira | Per user, at your whole site's tier; free up to 10 users | about $39 a month |
| Planning Poker (Appfire) | Inside Jira | Per user, at your whole site's tier | about $32 a month |
| Agile Planning Poker, Retrospectives, Daily Standup (DevSamurai) | Inside Jira | Per user, at your whole site's tier | about $14 a month |

Frequently asked questions
Does Jira have built-in planning poker?
No. Jira stores the estimate in a field (Story Points or Story point estimate), but it has no built-in way for the team to vote on it. Planning poker tools fill that gap.
Do I need to install anything in Jira?
No. Planning Poker Web is not a Marketplace app. You connect it with OAuth or an API token, and nothing is installed in your Jira site.
Does it work with Jira Data Center or Server?
No. It supports Jira Cloud only.
Do my teammates need a Jira account to vote?
No. Only the connection uses a Jira account. Everyone else joins the room from a link and votes.
Which field do the story points go to?
The number field you choose when you connect, usually Story point estimate (team-managed projects) or Story Points (company-managed). Pick the one your board displays.
How much does it cost compared with Marketplace apps?
Planning Poker Web is free, with no caps. Most paid Marketplace apps are billed per user at the tier of your whole Jira site, even if only one team uses them.
Can we use it with Linear or ClickUp too?
Yes. The same room can import from Jira, Linear and ClickUp, so teams on different tools can estimate the same way.
